Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a flat surface and the engine is off.
  • Disconnect the battery if working on electrical components.
2. Inspect and Replace Power Steering Fluid
  • Tools Required: Fluid pump, funnel
  • Check the power steering fluid reservoir and top off with the recommended fluid if low.
  • If fluid is dark or contaminated, drain and replace it:
    1. Locate the power steering fluid pump and remove the return line.
    2. Use a fluid pump to drain the old fluid into a suitable container.
    3. Reconnect the return line and refill with new fluid.
3. Replace Worn CV Joints
  • Tools Required: Socket set, jack stands, CV joint puller
  • If CV joints are damaged:
    1. Raise the front of the vehicle and secure it with jack stands.
    2. Remove the wheel to access the CV joint.
    3. Disconnect the axle from the wheel hub and remove the old CV joint.
    4. Install the new CV joint and reassemble the axle.
4. Replace Tie Rod Ends or Ball Joints
  • Tools Required: Ball joint separator, torque wrench
  • If tie rod ends or ball joints are found to be faulty:
    1. Lift the vehicle and remove the wheel.
    2. Use a ball joint separator to detach the tie rod end or ball joint from the steering knuckle.
    3. Replace with a new part and torque to manufacturer specifications.
    4. Reinstall the wheel and lower the vehicle.
