Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts required for the repair.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the engine is turned off.
  • Disconnect the battery to ensure safety.
2. Inspect and Replace Serpentine Belt
  • Tools Required: Socket set, belt tensioner tool, new serpentine belt
  • Remove the belt tensioner using the belt tensioner tool to relieve tension on the serpentine belt.
  • Remove the old serpentine belt, inspecting pulleys for wear and damage.
  • Install the new serpentine belt according to the routing diagram located in the engine bay.
  • Reapply tension using the belt tensioner and verify proper installation.
3. Check and Replenish Power Steering Fluid
  • Tools Required: Funnel, power steering fluid
  • Locate the power steering reservoir and check the fluid level.
  • If low, clean the reservoir cap, remove it, and add the appropriate type of power steering fluid until the proper level is reached.
  • Inspect hoses for any leaks or cracks and replace if necessary.
4. Gearbox and Differential Fluid Check
  • Tools Required: Fluid pump, appropriate gearbox and differential fluid
  • Remove the fill plug from the gearbox and differential to check fluid levels.
  • If levels are low, use the fluid pump to add the correct type of fluid until it starts to overflow from the fill hole.
  • Reinstall the fill plugs securely.
