Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the engine is cool.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts.
2. Inspect and Clean Throttle Body
  • Tools Required: Throttle body cleaner, screwdriver, clean rags.
  • Remove the air intake duct connected to the throttle body.
  • Use throttle body cleaner to spray and clean the inside of the throttle body.
  • Wipe off any residue with clean rags.
  • Reinstall the air intake duct securely.
3. Replace Spark Plugs and Ignition Coils (if necessary)
  • Tools Required: Socket set, torque wrench, anti-seize lubricant.
  • Remove engine cover (if applicable).
  • Disconnect the ignition coil connectors and remove the ignition coils.
  • Unscrew and remove the old spark plugs.
  • Install new spark plugs with anti-seize lubricant and torque to the manufacturer's specification (typically around 13-16 lb-ft).
  • Reinstall ignition coils and reconnect the connectors.
4. Clean or Replace Fuel Injectors (if necessary)
  • Tools Required: Fuel injector cleaning kit or replacement injectors.
  • Disconnect fuel lines and electrical connectors from the fuel injectors.
  • If cleaning, follow the manufacturer's instructions for the cleaning kit. If replacing, install new injectors and reconnect fuel lines.
5. Reconnect Battery and Test
  • Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
  • Start the engine and allow to idle.
  • Observe for any irregularities or improvement in idle quality.
