Solution
1. Preparation

2. Replace Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor
  1. Locate the ECT sensor, usually positioned near the thermostat housing.
  2. Disconnect the electrical connector from the sensor.

  4. Apply thread sealant to the new sensor's threads.
  5. Install the new sensor and torque it to the manufacturer's specifications (typically 15-20 ft-lbs).
  6. Reconnect the electrical connector.
3. Inspect and Replace Thermostat
  1. Drain the coolant into a clean container from the radiator drain plug.
  2. Remove the upper radiator hose from the thermostat housing.
  3. Unbolt the thermostat housing using a socket set.
