Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts needed for the repair.
  • Tools Required: Screwdriver set, vacuum, wet/dry shop vac, cleaning cloths, disinfectant spray, replacement cabin air filter.
  • Safety Warnings: Ensure the vehicle is turned off and keys are removed from the ignition.
2. Replace Cabin Air Filter
  1. Open the glove compartment and remove any contents.
  2. Locate the stops on either side of the glove compartment and gently push them in to allow the compartment to drop down.
  3. Remove the cover of the cabin air filter compartment.
  4. Take out the old cabin air filter and inspect it for dirt and debris.
  5. Install the new cabin air filter, ensuring the airflow direction is correct (indicated by arrows on the filter).
  6. Reassemble the cover and glove compartment.
3. Clean HVAC System
  1. Use a vacuum to remove any loose debris from the air intake area and around the HVAC system.
  2. Spray a disinfectant cleaner into the air intake while the HVAC system is running to eliminate mold and odors.
  3. Allow the system to run for several minutes to circulate the cleaner.
4. Inspect and Clear Drainage System
  1. Locate the A/C drainage tube, which is typically under the vehicle near the firewall.
  2. Ensure that the drainage tube is clear of any blockages using a flexible wire or compressed air.
  3. If necessary, clean the drainage tube to ensure proper flow.
