Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts required for the repair.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a flat surface and the ignition is off.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to avoid electrical shorts.
2. Battery Inspection and Replacement
  • Inspect the battery: Check for corrosion on terminals and clean with a wire brush if necessary.
  • Replace the battery (if necessary):
    • Remove the battery hold-down bracket using a socket set.
    • Disconnect the positive (+) cable first, followed by the negative (-) cable.
    • Remove the old battery and install the new one, connecting the positive cable first, then the negative.
    • Torque battery terminals to manufacturer's specifications.
3. Starter Motor Replacement
  • Remove the starter motor:
    • Disconnect the wiring harness from the starter motor.
    • Remove the bolts securing the starter motor to the engine block using a socket set.
    • Carefully pull the starter motor out of the engine bay.
  • Install the new starter motor:
    • Position the new starter motor in place and secure it with bolts, tightening to the specified torque.
    • Reconnect the wiring harness.
4. Fuel System Inspection
  • Inspect the fuel pump:
    • Locate the fuel pump relay in the fuse box.
    • Swap the fuel pump relay with a similar relay to test functionality.
    • If still non-functional, replace the fuel pump.
  • Check fuel pressure:
    • Connect a fuel pressure gauge to the fuel line.
    • Turn the ignition to the 'ON' position (do not start) and check for adequate pressure (should be within manufacturer specifications).
