Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: Socket set, torque wrench, screwdriver set, throttle body cleaner, cleaning cloth, OBD-II scanner.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts.
  • Allow the engine to cool down before starting work.
2. Remove Engine Cover (if applicable)
  • Locate and remove any screws or bolts securing the engine cover.
  • Lift the cover off carefully and set it aside.
3. Disconnect Throttle Body Components
  • Remove the air intake duct by loosening the clamps and disconnecting any sensors or hoses attached to it.
  • Disconnect the electrical connector from the throttle body.
  • Detach the throttle position sensor (TPS) connector if applicable.
4. Remove Throttle Body
  • Unscrew the bolts securing the throttle body to the intake manifold using a socket set.
  • Carefully lift the throttle body off the manifold, ensuring no debris falls into the intake.
5. Clean the Intake Manifold
  • Use throttle body cleaner and a cloth to clean the mounting surface on the intake manifold.
  • Ensure all old gasket material is removed for proper sealing.
6. Install New Throttle Body
  • Place a new gasket on the intake manifold if necessary.
  • Align the new throttle body and secure it with the bolts, tightening to the manufacturer's torque specifications (usually between 15-20 lb-ft).
  • Reconnect the electrical connectors and throttle position sensor.
7. Reassemble and Final Checks
  • Reattach the air intake duct and secure it with clamps.
  • Replace the engine cover, if removed.
  • Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
