    • Socket set
    • Screwdriver set
    • Fuel pressure gauge
    • Pliers
    • Safety glasses
    • Shop towels
  • Relieve fuel system pressure by removing the fuel pump fuse and running the engine until it stalls.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent any electrical shorts.
2. Access the Fuel Pump
  • Sub-steps:
    1. Remove the rear seat cushion by pulling up on the front edge to disengage the clips.
    2. Remove the access cover for the fuel pump located on the top of the fuel tank.
    3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the fuel pump module.
    4. Remove the fuel lines by pressing the release tabs and pulling the connectors apart. Be prepared for fuel spillage.
3. Remove the Fuel Pump Assembly
  • Sub-steps:
    1. Unscrew the retaining ring that holds the fuel pump assembly in place using a suitable tool.
    2. Carefully pull the fuel pump assembly out of the tank, ensuring not to damage the float arm.
    3. Remove the old fuel pump from the assembly by unclipping it from the fuel pump module.
4. Install the New Fuel Pump
  • Sub-steps:
    1. Install the new fuel pump into the assembly, ensuring it clicks into place.
    2. Replace the O-ring on the fuel pump assembly to ensure a proper seal.
    3. Reinsert the fuel pump assembly back into the tank and secure it with the retaining ring, tightening it to the manufacturer's specifications.
    4. Reconnect the fuel lines and electrical connectors.
5. Reassemble and Test
  • Sub-steps:
    1. Replace the access cover and rear seat cushion.
    2. Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
    3. Reinstall the fuel pump fuse.
    4. Turn the ignition to the ON position a few times to prime the fuel system, then check for leaks.
    5. Start the engine and monitor its operation.
