Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: Socket set, torque wrench, fuel line removal tool, OBD-II scanner, fuel pressure gauge, safety glasses, gloves.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shocks.
  • Relieve fuel system pressure by removing the fuel pump relay and starting the engine until it stalls.
2. Access the Fuel Pump
  • Lift the rear seat cushion to expose the fuel pump access panel.
  • Remove the access panel by unscrewing the screws and disconnecting any electrical connectors attached to it.
3. Remove the Fuel Pump Module
  • Disconnect the fuel lines from the fuel pump assembly using the fuel line removal tool.
  • Disconnect the electrical connector from the fuel pump module.
  • Unscrew the retaining ring securing the fuel pump module to the fuel tank (use a hammer and a punch if it’s stuck).
  • Carefully lift the fuel pump module out of the tank, taking care not to damage the fuel sender unit.
4. Install the New Fuel Pump
  • Replace the old fuel pump with a new one, ensuring the new fuel pump is compatible with the Honda Accord model.
  • Attach the new pump to the fuel pump module and secure it with the retaining ring.
  • Reconnect the electrical connector and fuel lines to the new pump.
5. Reassemble and Test
  • Reinstall the access panel and secure it with screws.
  • Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
  • Turn the ignition to the "ON" position without starting the engine to prime the fuel system and check for leaks.
  • Start the engine and ensure proper operation.
