Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather the necessary tools: jumper cables and a functioning vehicle with a charged battery.
  • Ensure both vehicles are parked close together but not touching.
  • Turn off all electrical components in both vehicles (radio, lights, etc.).
2. Connect Jumper Cables
  1. Identify Battery Terminals:
    • Locate the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals on both batteries.
  2. Attach Jumper Cables:
    • Connect one end of the red (positive) jumper cable to the positive terminal of the dead battery.
    • Connect the other end of the red jumper cable to the positive terminal of the good battery.
    • Connect one end of the black (negative) jumper cable to the negative terminal of the good battery.
    • Connect the other end of the black jumper cable to a grounded metal surface on the dead vehicle (such as an engine block or chassis) away from the battery to avoid sparks.
3. Start the Donor Vehicle
  • Start the engine of the functioning vehicle and let it run for a few minutes to charge the dead battery.
4. Start the Dead Vehicle
  • Attempt to start the Honda Accord. If it doesn't start immediately, wait a few more minutes and try again.
5. Disconnect Jumper Cables
  1. Once the Accord starts, carefully remove the jumper cables in the reverse order:
    • Remove the black cable from the grounded surface on the dead vehicle.
    • Remove the black cable from the good battery.
    • Remove the red cable from the good battery.
    • Remove the red cable from the dead battery.
6. Allow Vehicle to Run
  • Let the Honda Accord idle for at least 15-30 minutes to recharge the battery.
