Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools: small Phillips screwdriver, flathead screwdriver, replacement battery (CR2032), and multimeter.
  • Ensure the working area is clean and free of static electricity.
2. Open the Key Fob
  • Use a flathead screwdriver to gently pry open the key fob casing at the seam.
  • Be cautious to avoid damaging the internal components or the casing itself.
3. Replace the Battery
  • Remove the old battery using the small Phillips screwdriver if it is secured.
  • Note the orientation of the battery (positive and negative sides).
  • Insert the new CR2032 battery in the same orientation.
4. Reassemble the Key Fob
  • Gently press the two halves of the key fob back together until they click into place.
  • Ensure there are no gaps between the two halves to maintain a waterproof seal.
5. Reprogram the Key Fob (if necessary)
  • Sit in the vehicle with all doors closed.
  • Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the “ON” position without starting the engine.
  • Press the “LOCK” button on the key fob and then turn the ignition to “OFF”.
  • Repeat this process three times to complete the programming sequence.
  • Test the key fob functionality.
