Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools: multimeter, socket set, screwdriver set, electrical contact cleaner, and wire connectors.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a flat surface and the engine is turned off.
  • Disconnect the battery by removing the negative terminal to prevent electrical shock.
2. Inspect and Replace Headlight Bulbs
  • Remove the headlight assembly cover using a screwdriver.
  • Disconnect the wiring harness from the back of the bulb.
  • Remove the old bulb by turning it counterclockwise and pulling it out.
  • Install the new bulb by aligning it correctly and turning it clockwise to lock it in place.
  • Reconnect the wiring harness and replace the headlight assembly cover.
3. Check and Repair Wiring Harness
  • Visually inspect the wiring harness for any signs of wear, fraying, or corrosion.
  • Use electrical contact cleaner to clean any corrosion on connectors.
  • If any wires are damaged, use wire connectors to splice in new wire sections as needed.
  • Ensure all connections are tight and secure.
4. Test Battery and Alternator
  • Reconnect the battery and turn on the ignition without starting the engine.
  • Use a multimeter to measure the battery voltage; it should be around 12.6 volts.
  • Start the engine and measure the voltage again; it should read between 13.7 to 14.7 volts.
  • If the voltage is below this range, the alternator may need replacement.
