Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shock.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the windshield wipers are in the resting position.
2. Inspect and Replace Wiper Relay
  • Locate the wiper relay in the fuse box (refer to the owner's manual for exact location).
  • Remove the relay by gently pulling it out.
  • Inspect the relay for any signs of damage. Replace if faulty.
  • Reinsert the new relay and reconnect the battery.
3. Check and Replace Wiper Fuse
  • Open the fuse box and find the fuse related to the wiper system.
  • Remove the fuse using a fuse puller or pliers.
  • Inspect for a blown fuse (the metal strip inside will be broken). Replace with the same amperage rating.
  • Reinstall the fuse and close the fuse box.
4. Inspect and Replace Wiper Switch
  • Remove the steering column cover to access the wiper switch.
  • Disconnect the wiring harness from the wiper switch.
  • Use a multimeter to check for continuity across the switch terminals while operating the switch.
  • Replace the wiper switch if readings are inconsistent or no continuity is found.
  • Reassemble the steering column cover.
5. Inspect and Replace Wiper Motor (if necessary)
  • Remove the wiper arms by unscrewing the retaining nuts.
  • Disconnect the wiper motor wiring harness.
  • Unscrew the wiper motor from its mounting bracket.
  • Install the new wiper motor by reversing the removal process.
  • Reconnect all wiring and reattach the wiper arms.
