Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools: Flathead screwdriver, small Phillips screwdriver, multimeter, replacement battery (CR2032).
  • Ensure the vehicle is in a secure location and the engine is off.
2. Replace Key Fob Battery
  1. Open the Key Fob:
    • Use a flathead screwdriver to gently pry apart the key fob casing. Start at the seam and work your way around.
  2. Remove Old Battery:
    • Locate the battery and note the orientation (positive side up). Remove the old battery carefully.
  3. Install New Battery:
    • Place the new CR2032 battery in the same orientation as the old one.
  4. Reassemble Key Fob:
    • Snap the two halves of the key fob back together securely until you hear a click.
3. Reprogram Key Fob (if necessary)
  1. Enter Programming Mode:
    • Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the "ON" position without starting the engine. Turn it back to "OFF" and remove the key.
  2. Perform Reprogramming Sequence:
    • Press the "Lock" button on the key fob three times within 10 seconds. The vehicle should respond with a sound.
  3. Test the Key Fob:
    • Try locking/unlocking the door and starting the vehicle with the key fob.
