Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools: multimeter, jumper cables, socket set, and cleaning supplies.
  • Ensure the vehicle is in park with the parking brake engaged.
2. Jump-Start the Vehicle
  1. Locate the battery: Open the hood and find the battery.
  2. Connect jumper cables:
    • Attach the red (positive) cable to the positive terminal of the dead battery.
    • Connect the other end of the red cable to the positive terminal of the working battery.
    • Attach the black (negative) cable to the negative terminal of the working battery.
    • Connect the other end of the black cable to an unpainted metal surface on the engine block of the dead battery vehicle.
  3. Start the working vehicle: Allow it to run for a few minutes.
  4. Start the dead vehicle: Attempt to start the Honda Accord.
  5. Remove cables: After the dead vehicle starts, remove the cables in reverse order (black from engine block, black from working battery, red from working battery, red from dead battery).
3. Replace the Battery (if needed)
  1. Disconnect the battery:
    • Use a socket set to remove the negative terminal first, followed by the positive terminal.
  2. Remove the old battery:
    • Unscrew any brackets securing the battery in place.
    • Lift the battery out carefully.
  3. Install the new battery:
    • Place the new battery in the tray and secure it with brackets.
    • Connect the positive terminal first, followed by the negative terminal.
  4. Test the installation: Use a multimeter to check the voltage of the new battery.
