Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and materials.
  • Tools Required:
    • Jack and jack stands
    • Socket set
    • Torque wrench
    • Wrench set
    • Screwdrivers
  • Ensure the vehicle is on a flat surface and the parking brake is engaged.
2. Jack Up the Vehicle
  • Use the jack to lift the vehicle and place it securely on jack stands.
  • Ensure that the vehicle is stable before proceeding to the next steps.
3. Inspect Shocks
  • Visually examine the shocks for any fluid leaks, dents, or corrosion.
  • Check the mounting bolts to ensure they are tight and secure.
4. Perform Bounce Test
  • Push down firmly on each corner of the vehicle.
  • Release and observe how many times the vehicle bounces. Ideally, it should return to rest within one bounce.
  • If it continues to bounce, the shocks may be worn out.
5. Remove and Replace (if necessary)
  • If the shocks are confirmed as worn, follow these steps:
    • Remove the Old Shocks:
      • Use a socket set to remove the bolts securing the shock to the lower mounting point.
      • Remove the top shock mounting bolts from inside the trunk or under the hood.
    • Install New Shocks:
      • Position the new shock absorber in place and secure it to the mounting points.
      • Tighten all bolts to manufacturer specifications (check the service manual for torque values).
