Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts needed for the repair.
  • Ensure vehicle is parked on a flat surface.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shock.
2. Access the Fuel Sending Unit
  • Tools Required: Socket set, screwdriver set, safety goggles.
  • Remove the rear seat cushion (if applicable) to access the fuel pump access panel.
  • Unscrew and remove the access panel to expose the fuel pump and sending unit.
3. Remove the Fuel Sending Unit
  • Disconnect the electrical connector from the fuel sending unit.
  • Use a socket set to remove the retaining ring or bolts securing the sending unit in place.
  • Carefully lift the sending unit out of the tank, taking care not to damage the fuel lines.
4. Inspect and Replace
  • Inspect the fuel sending unit for any visible damage or corrosion.
  • If necessary, replace the fuel sending unit with a new one:
    • Tools Required: Torque wrench.
    • Apply thread sealant to the threads of the new sending unit if required.
    • Install the sending unit and secure it with the retaining ring or bolts, tightening to the manufacturer’s specified torque.
5. Reassemble and Test
  • Reconnect the electrical connector to the fuel sending unit.
  • Replace the access panel and secure it with screws.
  • Reinstall the rear seat cushion if removed.
  • Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
