• Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the engine is off.
• Safety warning: Disconnect the battery before beginning work on electrical systems.

2. Check and Refill Power Steering Fluid

• Locate the power steering fluid reservoir.
• Remove the cap and check fluid level; if low, add the manufacturer-recommended fluid until it reaches the proper level.

3. Inspect Power Steering System for Leaks

• Visually inspect power steering hoses and connections for signs of leaks.
• If leaks are found, replace the damaged hoses or seals as necessary.

4. Replace Power Steering Pump (if faulty)

• Remove the serpentine belt from the power steering pump by loosening the tensioner.
• Disconnect the power steering lines from the pump and remove the mounting bolts.
• Install the new power steering pump, reconnect the lines, and torque the bolts to manufacturer specifications.
