Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: Socket set, torque wrench, spark plug socket, extension bar, anti-seize compound, dielectric grease.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent any electrical short circuits.
  • Allow the engine to cool completely before beginning work.
2. Remove Engine Cover (if applicable)
  • Sub-steps:
    1. Use a socket wrench to remove bolts securing the engine cover.
    2. Carefully lift off the engine cover and set it aside.
3. Remove Ignition Coils
  • Sub-steps:
    1. Disconnect the electrical connectors from each ignition coil.
    2. Remove the bolts securing the ignition coils using a socket wrench.
    3. Gently pull the ignition coils straight out of the spark plug wells.
4. Remove Old Spark Plugs
  • Sub-steps:
    1. Use a spark plug socket and ratchet to unscrew the old spark plugs from the cylinder head.
    2. Inspect the spark plugs for signs of wear or damage.
5. Install New Spark Plugs
  • Sub-steps:
    1. Apply a small amount of anti-seize compound to the threads of the new spark plugs.
    2. Carefully thread the new spark plugs into the cylinder head by hand to avoid cross-threading.
    3. Tighten the spark plugs to the manufacturer’s specified torque (typically around 13 lb-ft for Honda).
6. Reinstall Ignition Coils
  • Sub-steps:
    1. Place the ignition coils back into their respective positions.
    2. Secure the ignition coils with bolts and reconnect the electrical connectors.
7. Reinstall Engine Cover (if applicable)
  • Sub-steps:
    1. Position the engine cover back onto the engine.
    2. Tighten the bolts to secure the cover in place.
8. Reconnect Battery
  • Reconnect the negative battery terminal to restore electrical power.
