Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: Socket set, wrench, battery terminal cleaner, safety gloves, safety goggles.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the engine is turned off.
  • Open the hood and locate the battery.
2. Disconnect the Battery
  1. Remove Negative Terminal:

    • Use a wrench to loosen the nut on the negative (-) terminal.
    • Disconnect the negative cable and secure it away from the battery to prevent accidental contact.
  2. Remove Positive Terminal:

    • Repeat the process for the positive (+) terminal.
3. Remove the Old Battery
  1. Remove Battery Hold-Down:

    • Locate and remove any battery hold-down brackets or clamps using the socket set.
  2. Lift Out Battery:

    • Carefully lift the old battery out of the tray. Be cautious, as batteries can be heavy.
4. Install New Battery
  1. Clean Battery Tray:

    • Use a battery terminal cleaner to remove any corrosion from the battery tray and terminals.
  2. Place New Battery:

    • Position the new battery in the tray, ensuring the terminals are oriented correctly (positive on the left, negative on the right).
5. Reconnect the Battery
  1. Connect Positive Terminal:

    • Attach the positive (+) cable to the positive terminal and tighten the nut securely.
  2. Connect Negative Terminal:

    • Attach the negative (-) cable to the negative terminal and tighten the nut securely.
