Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required:
    • Brake bleeder kit or clear tubing
    • 10mm wrench (for bleeder screws)
    • Safety glasses
    • Gloves
    • Rags for spills
  • Ensure the vehicle is on a level surface and set the parking brake.
  • Gather necessary brake fluid as per manufacturer specifications (DOT 3 or DOT 4).
2. Remove Old Brake Fluid
  • Locate the brake fluid reservoir and remove the cap.
  • Use a turkey baster or siphon to remove old brake fluid from the reservoir. Dispose of the fluid properly.
  • Fill the reservoir with fresh brake fluid up to the maximum fill line.
3. Bleed the Brakes
  • Start with the brake furthest from the master cylinder (right rear, left rear, right front, left front).
  • Attach the clear tubing to the bleeder screw on the brake caliper and place the other end in a container.
  • Have an assistant pump the brake pedal several times and hold it down.
  • Loosen the bleeder screw with the 10mm wrench to allow fluid and air to escape, then retighten the screw while the pedal is still pressed.
  • Repeat this process until clear, bubble-free fluid is seen in the tubing.
  • Check the reservoir frequently and refill as necessary to prevent it from running dry.
4. Finalize the Process
  • Once all four brakes have been bled, check the fluid level in the reservoir and adjust if needed.
  • Replace the cap on the brake fluid reservoir securely.
  • Clean any spills with rags and properly dispose of used fluid.
