Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools including an OBD-II scanner, multimeter, socket set, and screwdrivers.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent accidental deployment of airbags while working.
2. Inspect and Repair Wiring
  • Remove the seatbelt buckle cover to access the wiring harness.
  • Visually inspect the wiring for fraying or disconnection.
  • If damaged, splice in new wiring or replace the entire harness as necessary.
  • Reconnect the wiring securely and reattach the cover.
3. Test and Replace Seatbelt Buckle Sensor
  • Remove the seatbelt buckle from the seat.
  • Disconnect the wiring connector from the buckle.
  • Using a multimeter, check for continuity across the terminals of the sensor.
  • If no continuity is detected, replace the seatbelt buckle assembly.
    • To replace:
      • Remove the old buckle by unscrewing the mounting bolts.
      • Install the new buckle and secure it with bolts to the seat structure.
      • Reconnect the wiring harness.
4. Reset Warning Light
  • Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
  • Turn the ignition to the ON position (without starting the engine) for about 10 seconds.
  • Turn the ignition off and then back on to check if the seatbelt warning light has reset.
