Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather all necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the engine is cool to prevent burns.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to avoid electrical shorts.

Tools Required:

  • Spark plug socket
  • Ratchet and extension
  • Torque wrench
  • Pliers
  • Anti-seize lubricant (optional)

Parts Required:

  • New spark plugs (refer to the owner’s manual for specifications)
2. Remove Ignition Coils
  1. Locate the ignition coils on top of the engine.
  2. Unplug the electrical connectors from each ignition coil by pressing the tab and pulling them off.
  3. Remove the mounting bolts securing each ignition coil using the ratchet and socket.
  4. Gently pull out each ignition coil.
3. Remove Old Spark Plugs
  1. Using the spark plug socket, carefully unscrew each spark plug by turning it counterclockwise.
  2. Inspect the old spark plugs for wear or damage.
4. Install New Spark Plugs
  1. Apply a small amount of anti-seize lubricant to the threads of the new spark plugs (if using).
  2. Carefully thread each new spark plug into the cylinder head by hand to avoid cross-threading.
  3. Tighten the spark plugs to the manufacturer’s specified torque (usually around 13-15 lb-ft) using a torque wrench.
5. Reinstall Ignition Coils
  1. Reinsert each ignition coil over the corresponding spark plug.
  2. Secure the coils with the mounting bolts and reconnect the electrical connectors.
  3. Ensure all connections are snug and properly seated.
6. Reconnect Battery and Test
  1. Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
  2. Start the engine to ensure it runs smoothly and without misfires.
