Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools: small flathead screwdriver, new battery (CR2032), multimeter (optional).
  • Ensure workspace is clean and free of static electricity.
2. Open the Key Fob
  • Use the flathead screwdriver to carefully pry open the key fob casing.
  • Be gentle to avoid damaging plastic clips or the casing itself.
3. Replace the Battery
  • Remove the old battery, noting the orientation (positive side facing up).
  • Insert the new CR2032 battery into the key fob, ensuring correct polarity.
4. Reassemble the Key Fob
  • Align the two halves of the key fob casing.
  • Press them together firmly until they snap back into place, ensuring all clips are secured.
5. Reprogram the Key Fob (if necessary)
  • Sit inside the vehicle with all doors closed.
  • Insert the key into the ignition and turn to the 'ON' position without starting the engine.
  • Press and hold the 'Unlock' button for about 5 seconds, then press the 'Lock' button three times.
  • Turn the ignition back to the 'OFF' position and remove the key. Test the key fob.
