Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the engine is turned off and cool.
  • Gather safety gear (gloves and safety glasses).
2. Locate the Transmission Drain Plug
  • Use a socket set to remove the undercarriage cover if applicable.
  • Identify the drain plug on the transmission pan.
3. Drain Old CVT Fluid
  • Place a drain pan under the transmission drain plug.
  • Remove the drain plug carefully using a wrench.
  • Allow the old CVT fluid to completely drain into the pan.
4. Replace the Drain Plug
  • Clean the drain plug and inspect the sealing washer for wear.
  • Reinstall the drain plug and torque it to the manufacturer-specified value (usually around 33 ft-lbs).
5. Refill New CVT Fluid
  • Locate the fill plug on the transmission (typically on top).
  • Using a funnel, add new CVT fluid (ensure it meets Honda specifications).
  • Fill until the fluid level reaches the desired mark (if using a dipstick) or until it starts to overflow slightly from the fill hole.
6. Check Fluid Level
  • Start the engine and let it idle for a few minutes.
  • Shift through all gears and return to park.
  • Check the fluid level again and add more fluid if necessary.
