Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to ensure safety while working on the electrical systems.
2. Replace Cabin Air Filter
  • Tools Required: Socket set, flathead screwdriver
  • Steps:
    1. Open the glove compartment and remove any contents.
    2. Locate the stops on each side of the glove compartment; press them inward to allow the compartment to lower.
    3. Remove the cover of the cabin air filter (usually clips or screws).
    4. Take out the old cabin air filter and clean any debris from the filter housing.
    5. Install the new cabin air filter, ensuring the airflow direction matches the indicated arrows.
    6. Reattach the cover and raise the glove compartment back into position.
3. Check and Replace Blower Motor
  • Tools Required: Multimeter, socket set
  • Steps:
    1. Access the blower motor by removing the panel under the dashboard.
    2. Disconnect the electrical connector from the blower motor.
    3. Use a multimeter to test for voltage at the connector while the climate control is set to high.
    4. If no voltage is present, check for issues with the climate control module or wiring.
    5. If there is voltage but the motor does not operate, remove the blower motor by unscrewing it from its housing.
    6. Replace it with a new blower motor and reconnect the electrical connector.
4. Recharge Refrigerant
  • Tools Required: Refrigerant gauge set, vacuum pump, refrigerant canister
  • Steps:
    1. Connect the low and high-pressure sides of the refrigerant gauge set to the AC service ports.
    2. Start the engine and turn on the AC to maximum.
    3. Check the pressure readings; if low, proceed to recharge the system.
    4. Use a vacuum pump to remove any moisture from the system for at least 30 minutes.
    5. Connect the refrigerant canister and add refrigerant according to the manufacturer’s specifications.
    6. Monitor pressures to ensure they are within the acceptable range.
