Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Park the vehicle on a level surface and engage the parking brake.
  • Disconnect the battery for safety.
2. Raise the Vehicle
  • Use a hydraulic jack to lift the vehicle at the designated lift points.
  • Secure the vehicle with jack stands to ensure safety.
3. Remove the Strut Assembly
  • Tools Required: Socket set, torque wrench, spring compressor.
  • Remove the wheel to gain access to the strut assembly.
  • Disconnect the sway bar link from the strut.
  • Remove the bolts securing the strut to the steering knuckle.
  • Unbolt the strut from the top mount under the hood.
  • Carefully remove the strut assembly from the vehicle.
4. Replace or Rebuild the Strut

  • If rebuilding, use a spring compressor to safely remove the spring from the old strut and install it on the new strut.
  • Ensure all seals are properly installed to prevent future leaks.
5. Reinstall the Strut Assembly
  • Reinsert the strut assembly into its original position.
  • Secure the top mount and torque to manufacturer specifications.
  • Reattach the strut to the steering knuckle and sway bar link.
  • Replace the wheel and lower the vehicle.
6. Final Inspection
  • Check all fasteners for proper torque.
  • Ensure no tools or debris are left in the engine bay or under the vehicle.
