Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: OBD-II scanner, socket set, oil catch pan, rags.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the engine is cool. Disconnect the battery for safety.
2. Address Oil Leaks
  • Locate the Leak: Identify the source of the leak by tracing oil trails or using UV dye if necessary.
  • Replace Gaskets/Seals:
    • Remove any components obstructing access to the leaking gaskets or seals.
    • Clean the surfaces where the gaskets or seals will be installed.
    • Apply a uniform bead of gasket maker (if applicable) and install new gaskets/seals.
    • Torque bolts to the manufacturer's specifications (refer to service manual for specific values).
3. Change Engine Oil
  • Drain Old Oil:
    • Place an oil catch pan under the oil pan and remove the drain plug. Allow the oil to fully drain.
    • Replace the drain plug and torque to the specified value.
  • Replace Oil Filter:
    • Remove the old oil filter using an oil filter wrench.
    • Lubricate the rubber O-ring of the new filter with a little new oil and install it.
  • Add New Oil:
    • Fill the engine with the recommended type and quantity of new oil (refer to the owner's manual).
    • Start the engine and run it for a few minutes, then check the oil level again and top off if necessary.
