Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools: small flat-head screwdriver, new key fob battery (usually CR2032), and a clean workspace.
  • Ensure the vehicle is in a safe location with no traffic.
2. Replace Key Fob Battery
  • Sub-step 1: Use the small flat-head screwdriver to gently pry open the key fob casing at the seam.
  • Sub-step 2: Remove the old battery carefully, noting the orientation (positive side facing up).
  • Sub-step 3: Insert the new battery in the same orientation as the old one.
  • Sub-step 4: Snap the key fob casing back together until it clicks securely.
3. Reprogram Key Fob (if necessary)
  • Sub-step 1: Enter the vehicle and close all doors.
  • Sub-step 2: Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the "On" position (do not start the engine).
  • Sub-step 3: Press and hold the "Lock" and "Unlock" buttons on the key fob simultaneously for about 15 seconds.
  • Sub-step 4: Release the buttons, then press the "Lock" button once more to confirm reprogramming.
  • Sub-step 5: Turn the ignition off and remove the key.
