Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required:
    • OBD-II scanner
    • Multimeter
    • Socket set
    • Torque wrench
    • Screwdriver set
  • Safety Warnings: Disconnect the battery before working on electrical systems.
2. Remove the Blower Motor Resistor
  1. Locate the blower motor resistor, typically found near the blower motor or under the dashboard.
  2. Disconnect the electrical connector from the resistor.
  3. Remove the screws or bolts securing the resistor to the mounting bracket using a socket set.
  4. Carefully pull the resistor out of its housing.
3. Inspect and Replace Blower Motor Resistor
  1. Visually inspect the resistor for any burnt or damaged components.
  2. If damaged, replace it with a new blower motor resistor.
  3. Reinstall the resistor by reversing the removal process. Ensure it is secured tightly and the electrical connector is properly reattached.
4. Test the Control Switch
  1. If the resistor replacement does not resolve the issue, proceed to check the control switch.
  2. Remove the dashboard panel to access the control switch assembly.
  3. Disconnect the switch connector and use a multimeter to test for continuity across the different speed settings.
  4. Replace the control switch if faulty.
