Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: Small flathead screwdriver, coin (for prying), new CR2032 battery.
  • Ensure the vehicle is turned off and the key fob is in a safe workspace.
2. Open the Key Fob
  • Locate the seam on the key fob where the two halves meet.
  • Use the small flathead screwdriver or a coin to gently pry apart the two halves of the key fob. Start at one end and work around the seam to avoid damaging the casing.
3. Remove the Old Battery
  • Once the key fob is opened, locate the battery compartment.
  • Note the orientation of the old battery (positive side facing up).
  • Carefully remove the old CR2032 battery using your fingers or the screwdriver if necessary.
4. Install the New Battery
  • Insert the new CR2032 battery into the compartment, ensuring the positive side is facing the same direction as the old battery.
  • Press down gently until the battery is seated securely in place.
5. Reassemble the Key Fob
  • Align the two halves of the key fob and press them together until they click into place.
  • Ensure there are no gaps between the two halves indicating a proper seal.
6. Test the Key Fob
  • Stand a few feet away from the vehicle and press any button on the key fob to check if it responds and functions correctly.
