Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required:
    • Screwdriver set
    • Throttle body cleaner
    • Clean rags or paper towels
    • Safety goggles
    • Gloves
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts.
2. Remove the Intake Duct
  • Loosen the hose clamps securing the intake duct to the throttle body using a screwdriver.
  • Carefully remove the intake duct from the throttle body. Set it aside in a clean area.
3. Access the Throttle Body
  • Locate the throttle body on the intake manifold.
  • If applicable, disconnect any electrical connectors attached to the throttle body. Use caution to avoid damaging the connectors.
4. Clean the Throttle Body
  • Spray throttle body cleaner directly onto a clean rag or paper towel (do not spray directly into the throttle body).
  • Wipe the inside of the throttle body, particularly around the throttle plate and the walls. Ensure that any carbon buildup is thoroughly removed.
  • Open the throttle plate manually (if necessary) to clean the rear side of it.
  • Use a soft brush if necessary to dislodge stubborn deposits.
5. Reassemble the Components
  • Reconnect any electrical connectors removed in Step 3.
  • Reattach the intake duct to the throttle body, ensuring it is securely fastened with hose clamps.
  • Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
6. Final Check
  • Start the engine and let it idle for a few minutes to allow the throttle body cleaner to evaporate and the engine to recalibrate.
  • Check for any abnormal sounds or warning lights on the dashboard.
