Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and materials: OBD-II scanner, multimeter, socket set, torque wrench, fuel injector cleaning kit, safety glasses, and gloves.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the engine is cool.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts.
2. Remove Fuel Injectors
  1. Relieve fuel system pressure by removing the fuel pump fuse and running the engine until it stalls.
  2. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
  3. Remove the engine cover if applicable.
  4. Disconnect the electrical connectors from each fuel injector.
  5. Remove the fuel rail retaining bolts using a socket set.
  6. Carefully lift the fuel rail with the injectors attached, ensuring no fuel spills.
  7. Remove the injectors from the rail by gently twisting them while pulling straight out.
3. Clean Fuel Injectors
  1. Attach the fuel injector cleaning kit to the fuel rail.
  2. Follow the cleaning kit instructions to connect it to a compressed air source and cleaning solvent.
  3. Activate the cleaning kit as per the manufacturer’s guidelines to flush the injectors with the cleaning solution, ensuring each injector is cleaned effectively.
  4. After cleaning, check the injector spray pattern by using a separate injector tester if available.
4. Reassemble Components
  1. Apply a small amount of engine oil to the O-rings of the fuel injectors to ensure proper sealing.
  2. Reinsert the cleaned injectors into the fuel rail until they click into place.
  3. Reattach the fuel rail to the intake manifold and secure it with the retaining bolts, using the specified torque values.
  4. Reconnect all electrical connectors to the injectors and replace the engine cover if removed.
  5. Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
