Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts required for the job.
  • Ensure the engine is cool and the vehicle is parked on a level surface.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts.
2. Remove Engine Cover (If Applicable)
  • Use a socket set to remove any bolts securing the engine cover.
  • Gently lift the cover off and set it aside.
3. Access Spark Plugs
  • Locate the spark plug wires or ignition coils on the engine.
  • For ignition coils: Remove the bolts securing each coil using a socket wrench.
  • Carefully pull the ignition coils straight up to detach them from the spark plugs.
4. Remove Old Spark Plugs
  • Use a spark plug socket and ratchet to loosen and remove each spark plug by turning counter-clockwise.
  • Take care to keep debris from falling into the cylinder.
5. Install New Spark Plugs
  • Check the gap on the new spark plugs with a feeler gauge and adjust if necessary.
  • Apply a small amount of anti-seize compound to the threads of the new spark plugs.
  • Insert the new spark plugs into the cylinder head and tighten them to the manufacturer’s specified torque (usually around 12-15 ft-lbs).
6. Reinstall Ignition Coils
  • Reattach each ignition coil over its corresponding spark plug.
  • Secure the coils with the bolts removed earlier.
7. Replace Engine Cover (If Applicable)
  • Position the engine cover back onto the engine and secure it with bolts.
8. Reconnect Battery
  • Reconnect the negative battery terminal securely.
