Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required:
    • Jack and jack stands
    • Lug wrench
    • Socket set
    • Torque wrench
    • Strut spring compressor
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a flat surface and the engine is off.
  • Disconnect the battery to prevent any electrical issues.
2. Remove Wheel
  • Using the lug wrench, loosen the lug nuts on the wheel where the strut needs to be replaced.
  • Lift the vehicle with a jack and securely place it on jack stands.
  • Remove the lug nuts and take off the wheel.
3. Remove Old Strut
  • Locate the strut assembly and remove the bolts securing it to the steering knuckle using a socket set.
  • Remove the upper strut mount bolts under the hood, ensuring to support the strut.
  • Carefully detach the strut from the vehicle, using the strut spring compressor if necessary to safely remove the spring.
4. Install New Strut
  • Position the new strut in place, aligning it with the mounting points.
  • Tighten the upper strut mount bolts to the manufacturer-specified torque.
  • Reattach the strut to the steering knuckle using the original bolts and torque them to specification.
5. Reassemble Vehicle
  • Reinstall the wheel and hand-tighten the lug nuts.
  • Lower the vehicle and then torque the lug nuts to the specified value.
  • Reconnect the battery.
