Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: Phillips screwdriver, flathead screwdriver, or trim removal tool.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a flat surface and the engine is off.
  • Disconnect the battery if you are concerned about electrical components.
2. Access the Cabin Air Filter
  1. Open the glove compartment and remove any contents.
  2. Locate the hinge stops on both sides of the glove compartment. Pinch them inward and gently pull the glove compartment down to access the filter.
  3. If applicable, remove any screws securing the filter access cover using a Phillips screwdriver.
3. Remove the Old Cabin Air Filter
  1. Carefully pull out the old cabin air filter. Be cautious to avoid any debris falling into the HVAC system.
  2. Inspect the filter for signs of dirt, leaves, or blockages.
4. Install the New Cabin Air Filter
  1. Take the new cabin air filter and ensure it is oriented correctly, matching the airflow direction indicated on the filter.
  2. Slide the new cabin air filter into the housing until it is seated properly.
  3. Reattach the filter access cover (if removed) and secure it with screws.
5. Reassemble the Glove Compartment
  1. Lift the glove compartment back into place and ensure the hinge stops engage correctly.
  2. Replace any items removed from the glove compartment.
