Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts:
    • Tools: Flathead screwdriver, small Phillips screwdriver
    • Parts: CR2032 battery (or specific replacement battery for the key fob)
  • Ensure you are in a well-lit area to work on the key fob.
2. Open the Key Fob
  • Using the flathead screwdriver, gently pry open the key fob casing at the seam.
  • Carefully separate the two halves without damaging the clips.
3. Replace the Battery
  • Remove the old battery from the key fob.
  • Install the new CR2032 battery, ensuring the positive (+) side is facing up.
  • Ensure the battery is seated properly in its compartment.
4. Reassemble the Key Fob
  • Align the two halves of the key fob.
  • Press them together until they click securely into place. Ensure all clips are engaged.
5. Test the Key Fob
  • Stand near the vehicle and press the lock and unlock buttons to verify functionality.
  • If the key fob is still not working, proceed to reprogram it.
6. Reprogram the Key Fob (if necessary)
  • Enter the vehicle and close all doors.
  • Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the "On" position (do not start the engine).
  • Within 10 seconds, press the lock button on the key fob three times.
  • Turn the ignition off and remove the key. Test the key fob again.
