Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts needed for the repair.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the engine is off.
  • Disconnect the battery to prevent any electrical issues.
2. Inspect and Replace Brake Booster
  • Step 1: Remove the Master Cylinder

    • Loosen the brake fluid reservoir cap and siphon out the brake fluid to prevent spills.
    • Disconnect brake lines from the master cylinder using a flare nut wrench.
    • Unbolt the master cylinder from the brake booster using a socket set and remove it.
  • Step 2: Remove the Brake Booster

    • Locate and unbolt the brake booster from its mounting points on the firewall.
    • Disconnect the vacuum hose from the brake booster.
    • Carefully remove the brake booster from the vehicle.
  • Step 3: Install New Brake Booster

    • Position the new brake booster in the same location as the old one.
    • Reconnect the vacuum hose securely.
    • Bolt the brake booster to the firewall.
  • Step 4: Reattach the Master Cylinder

    • Position the master cylinder back onto the brake booster and bolt it in place.
    • Reconnect the brake lines and ensure they are tight.
    • Refill the brake fluid reservoir with new brake fluid (DOT 3 or DOT 4 as specified).
3. Final Checks
  • Bleed the brake system to remove any air bubbles.
  • Check all connections for leaks after bleeding.
