1. Preparation

2. Inspect and Replace Spark Plugs
  • Tools Required: Socket set, torque wrench, spark plug socket, dielectric grease.
  • Remove the ignition coil covers (if applicable) by unscrewing the bolts.
  • Disconnect the electrical connectors from the ignition coils.
  • Remove the ignition coils and inspect for wear.
  • Remove the old spark plugs using a spark plug socket.
  • Install new spark plugs, applying dielectric grease to the threads for easier future removal.
  • Torque the spark plugs to the manufacturer’s specification (typically around 13-15 lb-ft).
  • Reinstall the ignition coils and their connectors.
3. Clean the Throttle Body
