Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required:
    • Oil filter wrench
    • Socket set
    • Torque wrench
    • Oil drain pan
    • Funnel
    • Rags or paper towels
  • Parts Required:
    • Engine oil (5W-30 or as specified in the owner's manual)
    • New oil filter
  • Safety Warnings:
    • Allow the engine to cool slightly before starting the oil change to avoid burns.
    • Ensure the vehicle is securely supported if lifted.
2. Draining Old Oil
  • Position the oil drain pan under the oil pan.
  • Remove the oil drain plug using the appropriate socket.
  • Allow the old oil to completely drain into the pan (approximately 15-20 minutes).
  • Reinstall the oil drain plug and tighten it to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).
3. Replacing the Oil Filter
  • Using the oil filter wrench, remove the old oil filter. Be prepared for some residual oil to spill.
  • Prepare the new oil filter by applying a thin layer of new oil to the rubber gasket.
  • Install the new oil filter by hand, tightening it until it is snug, then an additional 3/4 turn.
4. Adding New Oil
  • Remove the oil filler cap on the engine.
  • Using a funnel, pour the new engine oil into the engine (typically around 6.5 quarts for the G70; check the owner’s manual for exact capacity).
  • Replace the oil filler cap securely.
5. Final Checks
  • Start the engine and let it run for a minute, checking for leaks around the oil filter and drain plug.
  • Turn off the engine and allow it to sit for a minute, then check the oil level using the dipstick. Add oil if necessary.
  • Dispose of the old oil and oil filter properly at a recycling center.
