Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a flat surface and the engine is cool.
  • Disconnect the battery to ensure safety during repairs.
2. Fixing the Oil Filter
  • Tools Required: Oil filter wrench, new oil filter
  • Remove the old oil filter using the oil filter wrench.
  • Inspect the filter mounting surface for debris and clean it.
  • Apply a small amount of new oil to the rubber O-ring of the new filter.
  • Install the new oil filter, tightening it by hand until snug, then an additional 3/4 turn.
3. Replacing Gaskets
  • Tools Required: Socket set, torque wrench, gasket scraper, new gaskets
  • Drain the engine oil and remove the oil pan by loosening the bolts with a socket set.
  • Carefully remove the old gasket material using a gasket scraper from the oil pan and engine block.
  • Clean the mating surfaces thoroughly to prevent leaks.
  • Place the new gasket on the oil pan and reattach it, tightening the bolts to the manufacturer's specified torque settings.
  • If replacing the valve cover gasket, remove the valve cover and repeat the cleaning and replacement process.
4. Inspecting and Replacing the Oil Pressure Sending Unit
  • Tools Required: Socket set, new oil pressure sending unit
  • Locate the oil pressure sending unit and disconnect the electrical connector.
  • Remove the sending unit using a socket wrench.
  • Install the new oil pressure sending unit and reconnect the electrical connector.
