Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shock.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a flat surface and the engine is cool.
2. Replace Cabin Air Filter
  • Tools Required: Screwdriver, new cabin air filter.
  • Locate the cabin air filter access panel, usually behind the glove compartment.
  • Remove the screws or clips to open the panel and take out the old filter.
  • Install the new cabin air filter, ensuring it is oriented correctly, then reassemble the access panel.
3. Recharge Refrigerant
  • Tools Required: Refrigerant gauge, refrigerant can, safety goggles, gloves.
  • Connect the refrigerant gauge to the low-pressure port of the AC system.
  • Check the pressure readings to determine the refrigerant level.
  • If low, follow the instructions on the refrigerant can to add refrigerant until the correct pressure is achieved.
4. Inspect and Replace AC Compressor (if necessary)
  • Tools Required: Socket set, wrench set, new AC compressor, refrigerant oil.
  • Remove the drive belt from the AC compressor.
  • Disconnect the electrical connector and the refrigerant lines from the compressor.
  • Remove the mounting bolts and take out the old compressor.
  • Install the new compressor, ensuring to add the appropriate amount of refrigerant oil as specified in the service manual.
  • Reconnect the refrigerant lines and electrical connector, and reinstall the drive belt.
5. Test the AC System
  • Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
  • Start the engine and turn on the AC system to the maximum cooling setting.
  • Monitor the AC system for proper operation and check for noise or leaks.
