Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: Socket wrench, safety gloves
  • Ensure you have a clear workspace and that the vehicle is parked on a flat, stable surface.
2. Disconnect Battery
  • Use a socket wrench to loosen the bolt on the negative battery terminal.
  • Carefully lift the terminal off the battery post, ensuring it does not touch the battery.
3. Wait for System Reset
  • Allow the vehicle's electrical systems to drain completely by waiting at least 10 minutes. This ensures all modules, including the TCM, are reset.
4. Reconnect Battery
  • Place the negative battery terminal back onto the battery post.
  • Tighten the bolt securely using the socket wrench, ensuring a good connection.
5. Test Drive
  • Start the engine and let it idle for a few minutes.
  • Shift through all gears (park, reverse, drive) to allow the TCM to recalibrate.
  • Take the vehicle for a short test drive under various conditions (accelerating, decelerating, and stopping) to ensure the TCM is functioning correctly.
