Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: Socket set, torque wrench, OBD-II scanner, fuel pressure gauge, flat screwdriver, needle-nose pliers, shop towels.
  • Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery to prevent any electrical shorts.
  • Relieve fuel system pressure by removing the fuel pump relay and starting the engine until it stalls.
2. Remove Engine Cover
  • Remove any plastic engine cover by unscrewing the fasteners holding it in place.
  • Carefully lift and set the cover aside.
3. Access Fuel Injectors
  • Remove the air intake duct connected to the throttle body by loosening the clamps and disconnecting any sensors.
  • Disconnect any wiring harnesses or connectors leading to the fuel injectors.
4. Remove Fuel Rail
  • Loosen the bolts securing the fuel rail to the intake manifold using a socket wrench.
  • Gently pull the fuel rail away from the intake manifold, taking care not to damage the O-rings on the injectors.
  • Set the fuel rail with injectors aside on a clean surface.
5. Replace Fuel Injectors
  • Carefully remove old fuel injectors from the fuel rail by twisting and pulling them out.
  • Lubricate the O-rings of the new injectors with clean engine oil.
  • Insert new fuel injectors into the fuel rail until they seat properly.
6. Reinstall Fuel Rail
  • Position the fuel rail with the new injectors back onto the intake manifold.
  • Secure the fuel rail by tightening the bolts to the manufacturer's specified torque (generally around 15-20 ft-lbs, but check specifications).
  • Reconnect the wiring harnesses to the fuel injectors.
7. Reassemble Engine Components
  • Reattach the air intake duct and ensure all clamps and connections are secure.
  • Replace the engine cover and fasten it with the removed screws.
8. Reconnect Battery and Test
  • Reconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
  • Reinstall the fuel pump relay and turn the ignition key to the "On" position without starting the engine to prime the fuel system. Check for leaks around the injectors.
  • Start the engine and check for any irregularities.
