Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Disconnect the vehicle battery to ensure safety.
  • Allow the vehicle to cool down before working on the braking system.
2. Remove the Left Front Wheel
  • Loosen lug nuts using a socket set.
  • Lift the vehicle using a jack and secure it with jack stands.
  • Remove the lug nuts and take off the left front wheel.
3. Access and Inspect the Wheel Speed Sensor
  • Locate the left front wheel speed sensor attached to the wheel hub.
  • Disconnect the sensor's electrical connector.
  • Remove the sensor from the wheel hub by unscrewing the retaining bolt (if applicable) and gently pulling it out.
4. Replace the Wheel Speed Sensor
  • Compare the new sensor with the old one to ensure a proper match.
  • Install the new wheel speed sensor into the wheel hub and secure it with the retaining bolt.
  • Reconnect the electrical connector to the new sensor.
5. Reassemble the Wheel and Lower the Vehicle
  • Reinstall the left front wheel and hand-tighten the lug nuts.
  • Lower the vehicle from the jack stands and remove the jack.
  • Tighten lug nuts to the manufacturer's specified torque value (usually around 100-130 lb-ft for most vehicles).
6. Reset the ABS System
  • Reconnect the battery.
  • Use an OBD-II scanner to clear the C0031 code and any other stored trouble codes.
