Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather all tools and parts needed before starting the repair.
  • Disconnect the battery to ensure safety while working on electrical components.
2. Clean or Replace the IAC Valve
  • Tools Required: Socket set, cleaning solvent, torque wrench
  • If the IAC valve is dirty:
    1. Remove the IAC valve from the throttle body using a socket set.
    2. Clean the valve with a suitable cleaning solvent and a soft brush.
    3. Reinstall the cleaned IAC valve, ensuring proper torque specifications are followed.
  • If the IAC valve is faulty:
    1. Remove the IAC valve as previously described.
    2. Install a new IAC valve, ensuring it is seated correctly and torqued to manufacturer specifications.
3. Clean the Throttle Body
  • Tools Required: Throttle body cleaner, soft cloth, screwdriver
  1. Remove the air intake duct to access the throttle body.
  2. Spray throttle body cleaner onto a soft cloth and wipe the inside of the throttle body to remove carbon buildup.
  3. Reassemble the air intake duct.
4. Inspect and Replace the Fuel Filter
  • Tools Required: Fuel line disconnect tool, socket set
  1. Relieve the fuel pressure by removing the fuel pump relay and starting the engine until it stalls.
  2. Disconnect the fuel lines from the fuel filter using a fuel line disconnect tool.
  3. Remove the old fuel filter and replace it with a new one, ensuring it is oriented correctly.
  4. Reconnect the fuel lines securely.
