Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts for strut replacement.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a flat surface and engage the parking brake.
  • Wear safety gloves and goggles.
2. Lift the Vehicle
  • Use a jack to lift the front or rear of the vehicle, depending on which struts are being replaced.
  • Secure the vehicle with jack stands to ensure stability.
3. Remove Wheel
  • Using a lug wrench, remove the wheel that corresponds to the strut being inspected or replaced.
  • Place the wheel aside securely.
4. Remove Strut Assembly
  • Locate the strut assembly and remove the lower strut bolts using a socket wrench.
  • Remove the upper strut mounting nuts from the strut tower using a socket and ratchet.
  • Carefully pull the strut assembly out from the wheel well.
5. Inspect and Replace Components
  • Check the strut for signs of leakage and overall wear; if worn, replace with new struts.
  • If needed, replace strut mounts and bushings for optimal performance.
  • Install the new or inspected strut assembly back into the vehicle in reverse order of removal.
6. Reinstall Wheel and Lower Vehicle
  • Reattach the wheel, tightening the lug nuts to the manufacturer’s specified torque value.
  • Carefully lower the vehicle back to the ground and remove the jack stands.
7. Final Inspection
  • Check all fasteners and ensure the strut assembly is secure.
  • Perform a final visual inspection for any issues.
