Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required:
    • Socket set
    • Wrench set
    • Battery terminal cleaner (optional)
  • Safety Warnings:
    • Ensure the vehicle is on a flat surface and in park before starting.
    • Wear safety gloves and goggles during battery disconnection.
2. Disconnect the Battery
  • Locate the battery in the engine compartment.
  • Using a socket or wrench, loosen the negative (-) battery terminal clamp.
  • Carefully remove the negative terminal and set it aside to prevent accidental reconnection.
3. Wait for Reset
  • Leave the battery disconnected for a minimum of 10 minutes. This allows the TCM to reset.
4. Reconnect the Battery
  • Reattach the negative (-) battery terminal to the battery.
  • Tighten the clamp securely to ensure a good connection.
5. Idle and Drive Test
  • Start the engine and let it idle for 3-5 minutes to allow the system to stabilize.
  • Drive the vehicle in various conditions (city, highway) for at least 15 minutes to allow the transmission to relearn its shifting patterns.
