Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: Socket set, screwdriver set, throttle body cleaner, clean rags, safety glasses, gloves.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts.
  • Allow the engine to cool if it has been running.
2. Remove the Throttle Body
  • a. Locate the throttle body; it is typically between the air intake and the intake manifold.
  • b. Remove any air intake components connected to the throttle body, including the air duct and sensor connectors, using the appropriate socket or screwdriver.
  • c. Remove the throttle body mounting bolts using a socket wrench.
  • d. Carefully detach the throttle body from the intake manifold, being cautious not to damage any gaskets.
3. Clean the Throttle Body
  • a. Spray throttle body cleaner on the inside of the throttle body, focusing on the throttle plate and surrounding areas.
  • b. Use a clean rag to wipe away the carbon buildup and dirt. Gently scrub with a soft brush if necessary to remove stubborn deposits.
  • c. Ensure that the throttle plate moves freely and is clean of any residue.
4. Reinstall the Throttle Body
  • a. Place a new gasket (if required) onto the intake manifold or throttle body.
  • b. Align the throttle body with the mounting surface and install the mounting bolts. Torque bolts to the manufacturer's specifications.
  • c. Reconnect all air intake components, ensuring all clamps and connectors are secure.
5. Final Checks
  • Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
  • Start the engine and check for any leaks or irregularities in operation.
