Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts required for the repair.
  • Ensure vehicle is on a flat, stable surface and secure with wheel chocks.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
2. Inspect and Replace Brake Booster
  1. Remove the Brake Booster:

    • Remove the master cylinder by unscrewing the mounting bolts.
    • Disconnect the brake lines from the master cylinder, using a line wrench to prevent rounding.
    • Unbolt the brake booster from the firewall and disconnect the vacuum line.
  2. Install New Brake Booster:

    • Position the new brake booster in place and secure it to the firewall with the mounting bolts. Torque to manufacturer specifications.
    • Reconnect the vacuum line ensuring a tight fit.
    • Reinstall the master cylinder onto the new brake booster, tightening the bolts to specification and reconnecting brake lines securely.
3. Bleed the Brake System
  • Fill the master cylinder with fresh brake fluid.
  • Bleed the brake lines starting from the furthest wheel from the master cylinder, typically the right rear, then left rear, right front, and finally left front.
  • Ensure no air bubbles appear until fluid runs clear.
